Jericho not in HD

What is going on with all our local channels not broadcasting HD shows in HD?

Last night it was Idol on Fox that was SD for 45 minutes of the 2 hours.

Tonite it appears to be Jericho - I've DVR'd it, and at least it is staring out in SD.

Have all the locals decided not to do HD anymore or something????

Is this just becoming such a common occurence that people just are so sick of it they don't even bother with noting it on boards like this anymore....

is it that CBS 58 getting ready for the crappy multicasting for the tourney tomorrow, so they added the multi-channels already and can't broadcast HD tonite???

If so, that sucks. Jericho is easily one of CBS's best shows. To not show it in HD tonite is a travesty.

Again, that is just a guess. They could have forgotten to flip the switch. But I'm amazed that nobody even posted anything about this tonight (and it's 2 hours after the show aired).

Maybe I'm the only one that watches Jericho????

Instead of replying to yourself a bunch of times, just use the edit button. :)

I've taken the liberty of editing your original post.

How about also providing an answer of why Jericho wasn't in HD?

It was unwatchable in SD - and I noticed that all the subchannels were already set up for the tournament tomorrow.

Why would they ruin tonights programming just to set up the subchannels a day early?

Even more reason to drop the stupid multicasting and show us the games this weekend in HD, as CBS corporate intended!  Obviously, if they wanted all the affiliates to multicast, they won't bother even using HD cameras - because nobody would ever see them...

If I worked for the local CBS affiliate I'm certain I could answer that. I was simply helping you brush up on some basic forum etiquette.

No problem.  Thanks for the help.

No, I was extremely irritated to say the least...remember, this is CBS58, the same station that does not allow Directv to have its HD signal due to some BS with the station...this station does not care about its viewers to begin with.

I watched the show in "stretch-o-vision", complete with Dolby 2.0 and wondered what the heck happened...then I realized it was CBS58 gearing up for March Madness that started officially the next day...

Yes, thanks CBS58...for crappy management and a lousy everything.

The chance of me watching your late night news, now, is zero.

Jericho was in HD coming out of WISC-DT in Madisonm so it looks like a WDJT-DT problem. It's weird...it took me 15 minutes to notice it looked really grainy but most of it was so dark anyway till I hit info and sure enough it was SD...switched over to WISC-DT and it was HD.

Great, that proves to me that CBS58 did the "deed" deliberately, screwing up the picture and sound (no HD or DD5.1) and did not have to do it that night....

Maybe it is time to storm the local channels! :OnAir:

I think it was an intentional act to turn off their HD that night.

I could be wrong, but the way they operate, I doubt it.  I just have to face it - HD is not important in any way to CBS-58.

I'm just having a hard time coming to grips with that.
