Now that WDJT is up and running its nice to see listings on their and CBS's website giving info on the station and what's on.  How about some mention on WTMJ's website about their DT station and programming. It can be found but you really have to dig for it. It just mentions basic equipment. I know its only Leno and Crossing Jordan but even a mention of that would be nice. Closed circut to Sean - is this something thats in the works?

Agreed! That's why, on our links page, instead of just sending people to the home page and making them search, we "deep" link directly to the digital/HDTV page of the local stations' Web sites.

WTMJ hasn't updated theirs since the last day of the Olympics.

I should spend less time watching HD and more time on the Web site. (But I thought the Wisconsin NCAA game looked great.)

I've asked our Webmaster to update the HD schedule page. We'll also try to add a link to milwaukeehdtv.org on our Digital TV Links page.

This is to Sean at WTMJ.

When I watch Jay Leno in HD, a problem pops up at least once per broadcast. The screen turns black for 5-10 seconds while audio continues. At the end of that, the audio cuts out for a second and then it all comes back pixelated for a second as it returns to normal. I also noticed sometimes it comes back with a kinda split-screen, messed up garbage look to it which can sometimes linger for 1-2 minutes. This last one only happens rarely and is always corrected. Just curious!

We've noticed that too on Leno. Over the weekend we switched over to a new NBC satellite receiver to see if that cures the problem. We'll find out tonight.

Sean,

Was the switch the reason why 4-1 went off the air in the middle of Saturday Night Live this past week? It was around 11:45PM or so that there was a switch to the Digital 28 Logo Screen and then the station off the air.

Thanks.

GS kid

The answer to that is simple. WTMJ-4 broadcasts DTV from 5:00p.m.-11:35p.m. on weekdays and 5:00p.m.-10:35p.m. on weekends. They should leave it on until at least Sat. Night Live is over at 12:00a.m. When they do, they leave it on during some of SNL by mistake until somebody gets around to turning it off. Too bad. I think a long running show like SNL should at least get the DTV broadcast it deserves weather you like all of it or not.

GS kid is right. WTMJ-DT is scheduled to go off the air right after the 10 o'clock news. Sometimes we forget and leave the transmitter on.
I've e-mailed our programming folks to suggest we stay on for Saturday Night Live.
