I Get to Compare

Living in Milwaukee, with DirecTV, their Tivo box and the local channels over-the-air, I get to compare it with Aspen, Colorado, with Comcast, their Motorola-made DVR, and the HD and other programs, all delivered by Comcast -- we're too distant to get any OTA channels.

So, count your blessings.  The Motorola DVI version of their DVR is dead on arrival, or shortly thereafter.  I replaced six of them before wising up and demanding an HDMI unit, which actually works (except for stereo/mono sound flipping).  The Comcast assortment of HD programs is only OK, and the Denver channels (our networks) are limited.  Also, the DVR is inferior, across the board, as compared to D*'s Tivo.  Comcast's version of analog channels (CNN, for example), is really analog, and their analog pickup of the Denver channels is awful.  DirecTV is simply superior.

All in all, as Dorothy said to Toto: "There's no place like home."
