Anyone noticed NG HD shown up in the DirecTV channel guide under channel 77? It just a listing, but no programming yet.

I'm seeing it. The Programming is listed as: Upcoming:  In the Womb: Multiples, Pt 1. The first showing of that is March 18th... wonder if that's when it's going launch....

Hope it's sooner.

According to Cnet's HD guide, NGHD is in 720P.

That's fine... so are my TV's. ;)

Can't wait to see my man, Cesar Millan in HD.

If you own a dog, you gotta be watching that show, and once it's in HD, there's no excuse not to. :)

Not all of their content is in HD, but I remember it when I had Dish... there's some good shows on there. I certainly wouldn't mind TWC picking it up.

Hi Guy's
My 10-250 is showing up CH77 but not my H10?? (none DVR) and if memory is correct the first showing late on 3/6/07, not at the TV.  What *D* receivers are you seeing this on??? . I wonder if it's mpeg4.

It appears on the guide on my samsung ts-160 HD box that is mpeg-2, but I have not seen any programming on the channel as of yet.

Tom Snyder

I'd bet it will be Mpeg4... it shows up on my HR20. And I scrolled ahead and see an actual program scheduled at 4am on 3/8.. I've set the DVR to record it... so we'll see. Although there's nothing in the guide after that show.

I asked the dude at the TWC booth at the mall about National Geo HD, and all he had to say is "Anything possible". I wanted to reach across that damn display and give him knuckle sandwich.   :Shoot:

Hello,
I don't know if it is going to be mpeg 2 or 4.  Keep in mind Ch 95 is mpeg2 and every now and then Ch 101 shows up in HD along with other PPV ch's in the high 90's. You know they have room if they can do that and bring the chiller ch and all this other junk instead of more HD. Yes D's SD is better than OTA SD , but a guy get spoiled with HD not to mention better sound!!!
With all the problems D has had with there new HD DVR, I would like to wait a little while yet. I'm still bugged about the software upgrade they did 10/07 on my 10-250, ever since then I have had a lot of lock ups and audio skips. Yes I cleared and rebooted the receiver.

Hey, don't even give them lip service as these poor souls are as "wonderfully trained" as the CSRs on the phone:
They know nothing and if they say anything at all, PLEASE don't believe it.

Look at a thread from awhile ago - just where are our bunch of HD channels from 2/1, anyway?

IMHO, TWC-Milwaukee is clogged up with no bandwidth for new HD channels until that Switched Video thing rears its head and who really knows when that will be?

From the beginning I had 77 listed, but as of tonight it has disappeared.  It make me wonder if it is going to the mpeg4, as I have an older mpeg2 box....more waiting.....the story of our lives.

Directv on its website did not list NGCHD with the HD channels page, exception being the listing on the program listing for anyone to see.

While it takes a few days for Directv to update its website, I don't expect it to appear, this was probably a "teaser".:D

77 is back up again in the channel guide.
