Especially as I got up to over 1/2 foot this morning and calling for 9 more tonight and 5 more tomorrow.....yeah I'll wait and see.

Man am I glad I got those real good all-season tires. Acura sports cars do not come with tires made for Wisconsin weather. ;)

Gregg Lengling

Just finished snow-blowing and took a ruler out....10 inches this AM in Cedarburg...actually this is perfect.  It stops now so I can go out and see the guys for Sat Morning Breakfast, come back home and play in the Computer room when the snow comes back.

And yes thank God for all season tires, traction control and ABS.  Too bad Oldsmobile got out of the car business....still love my Aurora.

What more could you ask for than to be stuck inside sunday when the Wisconsin v Ohio St game is :OnAir:

No complaints not going out this weekend... I can just play with my new toy (bolded in my siggie). :D

Although I need to get to Capitol Cinemas one last time before they close forever, either tonight or tomorrow night.

Yeah, but do you really want to watch the game in a little letter-boxed screen, inside of a pillar-boxed window, just so you can see all of the snow closings and the latest forecast?

Funny you mentioned about driving a sports car in snow- for a few years I drove my modded Mustang in it with no troubles! If you can race , you can drive it in snow (and thats with racing tires, too lol)!

Mark Strube

Are you kidding? That must've been one heavy car... I don't even wanna know if it was rear wheel drive or not. I'm glad mine's FWD or it'd be even worse. (Although it's fine now that I'm not using stock tires.)

It's Saturday night, and WISN is the only channel that has decided to go with full-time weather coverage.

It will be interesting to see what they all do tomorrow.

They will have an all day commercial free coverage.

What more can one say about those idiots.

I could be wrong, but with The Weather Channel's planned HD rollout, I would have to believe this will finally drive some development to the HD weather scroll/info issue and provide an alternative to switching to SD.

"We've got to develop a new STAR to be able to pass through the HD feed," says Kalber, "as the current STARs won't allow that." The new boxes will have to be very powerful to be able to render HD graphics for local insertion.

So maybe there is hope.... maybe

wire, is this the article that you mentioned?  The link you posted seems incomplete.

Thanks... I snagged it from somewhere else and didn't check it.

I was watching Frontline earlier this evening on 36-1 and they seemed to be able to scroll a message about some MPTV event being canceled on Sunday and it never dropped from HD. It was simple text and no graphics so I guess that's easier but it got the point across and didn't mess with the picture quality....
