Okay being curious I thought I would try further a field.

Being British I started in London.  Not too bad.

Next I tried Los Angeles - Strangely this was faster than Chicago.

Lastly I tried New York.

That was good performance as well so perhaps I got congestion in Chicago.  Tried it again...

Okay that's better.  I'm happy again :)

But does this thing cache at all?  Those last few numbers look too close for co-incidence

This says Verizon Business. Are you displaying your office speed or your home speed? :huh?:

I was wondering if someone would notice...  Yup, that's work.  Home is not quite as impressive.

BTW, there is a very cool 'my past results' tab on the top of the page.  It logs all of your tests.  See http://www.speedtest.net/results.php

Check out this one from November

Quote from: Doug Mohr;38015Its a partial T3 from TW to the office and then a point to point wireless from the office building to my house. That reading was during the weekend snow. It is usually a little faster but I need to get up on the roof of the US Bank Building and adjust the antenna, its gotten a little out of alignment over the past year. When I first set it up, I would get about 9.5Mb down and 7Mb up.

I'm not good with heights so I've been procrastinating and been telling myself its just too cold to go up there :)

Hmm that would be nice.  So you are sharing the office T3 line right?  What kind of receiver do you need on the house for something like that, and what kind of distance does it cover?

Pretty dismal here at work.

I'll check the home PC later tonight.

Yeah, the T3 is at 36Mb and I can get up to 10 with the gear I have. Throw on some encryption and I can access the internal network at about 8Mb, but now with the alignment, It's down to about 1.5Mb
