What does anyone know about running DVI to HDMI input.  I have started thinking about a new panel, however some do not have pc inputs, and I would like to run my media center pc on it.  I know that there are video cards with HDMI outputs, but only in PCI express.  I currently only have one with AGP.  Hopefully I dont have to build a new pc for that setup.  Let me know what you guys know.

Thanks

DVI to HDMI cables exist and are no big deal.  I use one for my Oppo DVD player.  When playing in the digital realm, it's all 1's and 0's that either get there or they don't.  A DVI to HDMI cable just carries no audio but works perfectly for video.

I have one of those as well for my dvd player, and I assume I can use either ATIs or NVIDIAs utility to change resolution as I would on a my computer lcd monitor.  I guess there is no hurt in trying?

Well, I go from DVI to VGA with my laptop to my Westy LCD and my Mac handles the resolution without fail.  I'm guessing your video card would work fine.  One problem that could arise though would be HDCP compliance.  If your panel is finicky, you could have problems hooking into the HDMI connection.  If you're really interested in using a computer, a VGA PC connection would be ideal.  Do you have a short list?

I'm using  DVI->HDMI cable to hook my HTPC to my new 42" LCD. I have an ATI Radeon X850 Platinum  video card.

I am using an ATI x1650 that I am currently using, and I have been looking into the Aquos 1080p sets.  From everything that you guys say it should work.  I will have to look into HDCP compliance.  I really doubt that my video card is cabable of that.  However, I do not know when I rip my DVD into DIVX format that there would be any HDCP issues.  I assume that it would need to be HD-DVD, Blueray, or HDTV content that would give me those issues.  I only have a standard def tuner currently.
