I'm watching the War At Home in the background right now and the pixelization and freeze-ups are so bad it's pretty much unwatchable. Anyone else?

EDIT: CBS-HD as well. Bad night for tv, eh?

EDIT: HBO-HD as well.

Please tell me I'm not the only one. Oy.

I have TWC and am in Brookfield (Sunnyslope & Bluemoune) and had a pretty good night.  A few audio drop-outs during CSI (Ch 505 8-9 pm), but that's about it.

Last week during the Colts championship game the pixelization and freeze-ups were constant.  I spent 58 minutes on hold waiting for customer service.  Supposedly I was getting a full signal per the rep.  Their only response was to have me reboot my stb and set up a service call 8 days latter for Mon 1/29.

Long story short, TWC called Wed 1/24 and said that a repairman had replaced some equipment in the area which did end up fixing most of my problem.  I still have some pixelization and freezing on INHD, and the occasional audio drop.

This may be the same problem that I was fighting a while back. It's what the technician that I had stop out call "suck-out." Basically, the cable outside your building contracts in the cold, pulling itself out of the cable end. The cable end remains properly screwed in place, but the cable pulls out of the end, causing short outs and all sorts of noise on the line.

As it gets colder and colder, there's more  of a chance of this happening, and of course, it's more noticable with digital signal because unlike analog - you either have signal or you don't.

Whatever it is, it really sucks!

I called TWC last night, and the rep said I was getting a weak signal. Not horrible, but weaker than it should be. A tech is coming out on Tuesday afternoon.

Real nice... I was at a Super Bowl party where they use OTA, so this didn't affect me... but I got a phone call from home, where my grandmother and mom were trying to watch, and the cable was COMPLETELY OUT for almost the whole game. I don't even think they got thru the entire first quarter before it went out.

She called TWC and they told her that they're aware of "problems in the area." I've got an OTA receiver on my mom's tv, but it was basically impossible to tell my grandmother how to switch everything over to that over the phone (my mom is disabled).

Wow. WOW. Cable goes out for the biggest sporting event of the year. They better give us a damn month free for pulling that kind of crap.
