Anyone else having 006-1 problems?

Ok, so I was looking at the antenna rotors at Menards today.  The nicer one was $70.
Since I'd need to run a wire from the box to the rotor, I'm thinking that I don't want to mess with it.  I'd have to drill a hole in the hardwood floor and in the basement wall to run the wire properly, not to mention installing the rotor doesn't seem to be a 1-man job, so I'd need to call in a friend to assist (add cost of a 12-pack to the cost, ).

I called DTV and they're offer was not that bad for the system upgrades I need to get locals in HD (ABC, NBC, FOX only).  It is going to end up costing $120 for the 5lnb dish and new hd receiver.  Locals are $3.99/month and we'll probably splurge a bit for the upgraded hd package.  

In total we're talking an extra $14/month for a bunch of good HD channels, locals in HD and not to mention the "extra 140 channels" the sales guy was pitching to me, to be available "sometime this year".  

I can keep the OTA antenna for the local CBS HD content that has been working fine for the past 3 years.

Can you tell I'm kind of selling myself on this idea?  

To answer Jimboy's questions about signals:
4-1, 12-1, 58-1 all come in at 100% signal strength when I checked tonight.  Channel 6-1 is 0% when the screen is black and 100% when the picture comes on for the 10 seconds it does every 5 minutes or so.

Analog channels (which I assume are the crappy looking 4, 12, 58 and 6), all look like the signal is being broadcast from a cell phone camera.  On my 55" Mitsu, they are unwatchable IMO.

I would call D* again as you should be able to get a new sat and an H20 for free, I got a new sat and 2 H20's for free. For $100 you should be able to get an HD DVR. Ask for customer retention if the CSR can't hook you up for $0, they started out quoting me $99 plus trding in my purchased LG HD box that I paid $300 for.
