Why PBS 3 hour delay?

It took me a while to find 10 & 36's normal programming in the digital realm.  Why would they have it 3 hours delayed from the analog broadcast?  This doesn't make any sense to me.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Well, the "later" concept makes sense to me - it's the same reason that Time Warner carries both the East coast and the West coast feeds for several channels. It allows those with only one tuner to be able to watch shows on 10/36 that would normally conflict with a program on another channel.

That said, I'm not sure why they decided to make that the _only_ digital feed of the normal 10/36 programming. I guess they decided that they weren't going to have both a normal time and a time shifted version on the digital channel, so they elected only to have the time-shifted one, and those who want to watch the programming at the normal time can watch it on analog for now.
