I have the show TIVO'd - and started watching tonight... and noticed the 1st 5 minutes were not in HD... and then it flipped in and out of HD for a few minutes before settling in....

Given that 24 is Fox biggest show (next to Idol?)... and is huge all over the country, I can't believe I haven't seen a post here discussing this...

Which makes me wonder if it is my HD Tivo HR10-250 that caused the recording problem and not Fox 6?

It would be strange if that was the case, but I have to believe that if our local Fox was messing with our HD 24, people would be screaming to holy hexx.....

Or does FOX get a free pass again for their technician falling asleep at the switch???????    (again, it could be my TIVO, but I doubt it)...

It wasn't your tivo.  I had the same thing OTA and gave up on watching in HD after a few minutes.  I figured that after last night (and last season) that it would just be happening again.

that FOX 6 is so inept that they screw up the premiere weekend of their most important program of the year....

It's nice having D*.... I can reset my season pass to FOX NY.....  While it is a little bettter picture on our local FOX (due to compresson on D*), it isn't worth the non professional screwups at our local FOX.

I can't believe someone hasn't lost their job yet on this issue at FOX 6... it was a problem last  year,  AND THEY STILL HAVEN'T FIGURED IT OUT?

You think they could hire an intern for $10 an  hour whose sole job is to flip the switch when it is HD........ instead they have an expensive engineer who is too dumb to flip the switch....

Goodbye FOX 6, Hello FOX NY!

I'm pretty sure Fox 6 uses automatic switching.  I was watching OTA and it was not in HD, but I had the Fox6HD bug in the lower corner.  Fox 6 was broadcasting HD, but I think the National feed was in SD.  I didn't have a chance to flip to D* 88, but I've seen that happen there as well.
