QuoteCorrect me of I'm wrong, but the locals on D* are still OTA, right? They're not sending them over the satellite yet...

Both standard local channels and the HD locals are both coming from Directv's sat's. You do need the new MPEG4 receivers to get the HD locals though....

Only four local stations: ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS for now are available from D* from sat.
PBS, CW and MyNetwork require OTA antenna even with D*.
Again, it is at least for now.

Actually, we in Milwaukeeland only get THREE stations in HD over Directv since CBS58 does not want to have its signal to Directv...sad.
Most cities that have Directv HD locals offer only those four HD locals, yet some, like in Atlanta and Chicago, offer FIVE, including CWHD...really great.:)

Now, if Directv offered at least FIVE HD locals like Chicago's DMA has, I would probably switch, (2) HR20s and all...once Directv adds more HD nationals and increases the resolution again...but that will probably happen when FIOS comes to my area, first (I am in a Verizon zone).:D
