WLS-DT 7.1 Chicago announced yesterday that their news, including remote trucks, field cameras, etc will be in HD on January 6. More interesting is that anything local they produce will now be in HD, even their "public affairs" shows such as "Chicagoing"! They say their *entire lineup* will be in HD!

But don't take my word for it...

Good news...

I just with CBS out of chicago would move to a new frequency. I'm fed up with CBS58 out of milwaukee, and refuse to watch it....

I wish WLS will increase power by at least 10%, I can get it here only 50% of the time, while NBC Chicago - 90%, WFLD - 100%. And, yes CBS is at 0% here. I wish they move to the upper channel.

When analog ends and everyone moves to their final DTV assignment you probably will have better luck as they have tentatively chosen channel 11 as their final DTV assignment (WBBM-CBS Chicago).

I'm on the Illinois side & I only get WBBM about 5% of the time.  I do get it thru Comcast & get CBS 58 well.  I actually like it that I get 58-2, WMLW since I cannot get it analog.

That's great news.  I've been watching their "Chopper 7HD" for about six months now and the views are stunning.  Milwaukee TV station owners will soon be losing more Racine/Kenosha viewers as we turn our channels to watch HD programming from Chicago.  Actually, I turned my antenna south long ago when 36.1 and 12.1 began displaying the logos.  The Chicago stations don't bother the viewers with them, or they make them faint which allows us to see through the logo.  WLS must know that we're watching as they often give traffic reports on the freeway in Racine/Kenosha counties, and their weather guys/ladies give the temps from the Racine/Kenosha airports during the weather segments.
