Last week I started not receiving 58 OTA. I'm not getting anything on 58.1. 58.2 or 58.3 or 41.1 or 41.2. My tuner jumps to 58.3 and dosen't even stop at 58.1. I do get the 55 signals but they have become very weak and pixelated. I get all other UHF stations in the Milwaukee area except 36. I used to get 36 just fine. Is this a problem with my antenna or something else. I've checked out the antenna and physically it appears to be OK.

It does sound like an antenna problem.....where are you located and where and what type of antenna are you using???

I live in the southern part of Germantown. I have a Channelmaster (I don't know what style) on the roof. It still gives me great reception on all the other channels. Is it possible for an antenna to loose reception selectively? There are no elements missing or loose.

You first would want to check the aiming and make sure the wind didn't move it.  But do you have a Signal Guide on your receiver to show the received signal strength, so you can compare the good channels to bad???

The aiming hasn't changed. The antenna is tight on the mast and I can't swivel it so I wouldn't think that the wind could. It appears to be facing as I set it up. I have it cabled to a Sharp LC-45GD4U and this doesn't have a signal strength meter. Is that something that should be in my system?

Yes your Sharp has it....if I remember correctly you have to go into the menus to look at signal strength.

I finally found my signal strength meter. Here are my readings 4 (28) 85-95, 6 (33) 80-84, 10 (8) 98-99, 12 (34) 99-99, 18 (61) 90-99, 24 (25) 99-99, 30 (22) 0-0, 36 (35) 99-99, 55 (40) 0-99, and 58 (46) 99-99. I took these readings 11/27 @ 8:30 am. When I type in channel 58.1 I get this message, Failed to receive broadcast [E202]. If I type in channel 46 it displays 4601 in the channel window and I get this message, DTV 58.1  : Can't find this channel [E204]. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks for all your help.

I would go into setup and do a complete rescan, it could be as simple as a stray bit in the routing list.

Thanks very much. That worked and now I'm a lot more familiar with my set. Again, thanks.
