Look did I say I am complaining about OTA...NO!  For the record I can't not get OTA due to High Power Lines in my area (well not a clear signal at least).  I was just asking a simple question and Jim's answer was vague.  So if he is right I all ready said that we as a DirecTV paying customer have the right to go to them and question why they won't deal with 58.

When the OTA inputs are activated on the HR20 box, I'm going to make the switch to D*.

Maybe the wrong area for this, but do you think the antenna that hooks to the dish with pickup channel 58.  I'm in Jackson, south of West bend.  According to antennaweb, 58 is 20 miles away, and I need a "Yellow" antenna.

Thanks
DAVE

Very doubtful, but you can certainly try it.  Check the return policy before you buy though.  Jackson is very hilly so unless you are on top of a hill that antenna won't pick up much.  I would suggest either a radio shack antenna or a channel master 4228.  I've got the 4228 and I'm picking up all the stations at 90% or better in West Bend.

All I can say as a TWC HD subscriber, is try to get the signal somehow,  but now you know what it feels like when we try to get the HD channels 18 & 24 from TWC due to payouts required by Sinclair.
CBS HD has some of the best HD and sound in 5.1, in my opinion, at least from what I get from TWC's feeds.
No wonder why Dishnetwork had CBS HD as the first major HD network carried, as it has the most and the best...but that is my observation...sorry for your (HD) pain...really. :D

I'm in Jackson and am getting all the locals with Radio Shack double Bowtie indoor antenna...70-80% signal strength through expanded foam insulated walls

Because of the $$$ we might not ever see CBS58 in HD on DTV.

Tom Snyder

People thought the same thing when they were negotiating with 58 SD locals and HD on Time Warner. Eventually it got done. No reason to believe it won't happen with HD Local on DTV... will just take some time.

CBS58 just likes to be difficult.

If you are South of Milwaukee pull in Chicago

If you are West of Milwaukee pull in Madison

If you are North of Milwaukee pull in Green Bay

If you are East of milwaukee start paddling

Or if you are smart enough you will get a good rooftop antanna and pull it in straight from source.  My rabbit ears work just fine on my Samsung SIR-TS160, and on my previous receiver, the H-10 (the non-dvr HD box).

That is an H20.

If they want to play hardball and make everyones life hell then boycott them all together.

Actually it is the H-10.  I should know, I bought the thing.

Just want to say for everyone else, who flippin cares?!

I am sorry.  I was ranting.

I want CBS 58(MILWAUKEE WI) in HD now!
Thanks for the info about who to contact!
The local HD page
( http://www.milwaukeehdtv.org/index.html) in its forum has the following quote from a manager from the local channel's office:

At this time it does not appear that DirecTv has an interest in our HD programming.

This is one of the most out of touch with reality statements I have ever heard.  We in Milwaukee went through this when D first started with locals in STD DEF.  Now history is repeating itself.

It really amazes me that  a station would not try to work to provide its programming to the residents of that city.

I challenge MR. HALL to get this impasse resolved ASAP.  (LSU V UT IS IN ONE WEEK and I want to watch in HD from the satellite.

The local feed usually breaks up in the afternoon and it is unrealiable.

Thanks for letting me rant

Why don't you just call D & ask them to add channel 80, the east coast feed?  It doesn't cost any more & you get to see other high def football games on Sunday!
:D
