Format Fires Up Big-Screen Fans
During the 1849 California Gold Rush, hundreds of thousands moved West to seek their fortune, but only a few actually made any money from mining. The real wealth was made providing overpriced food, supplies and services to the miners. HDTV expert Pete Putnam said that anecdote is apt when considering 1080p technology, which scans lines on a screen about twice as fast as competing formats
