Quote from: GBKThanks Sean we may gripe a lot here about these issues but at least we know YOU got our back.

Actually, I noticed that you guys were almost "nice" by comparison to other threads.

It just proves that the old saying is true: "You get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar"

I know what your saying: "Flies, I thought that they were deinterlacing artifacts!" ;)

"Earl" was completely unwatchable in HD last night.  Or at least "unlistenable".  At first I thought it was done on purpose but when I could barely hear the diaglogue it was obvious something was horribly wrong.  If this happened earlier in the week how could they not have it fixed by now?

Quote from: oflahertyI don't have any answer yet to our audio problem.

I still have not heard back from engineering on the problem earlier this week with "Kidnapped."

Tonight I was in master control during "ER" for a different problem (Comast lost the SD feed in Oconomowoc.)  I know master was not aware on the 5.1 audio problem.

On the AVS forum no one else mentioned any problem with ER, so it was just a Milwaukee issue.

Call me directly (414) 967-5398 or the assignment desk (414) 963-4444 if problems are not getting fixed. I can't guarantee results, but we can at least try to fix the problem.

Thanks, Sean. I considered calling myself, but I didn't know who or where to call. I would've felt silly calling and asking for Master Control, because the last thing I want is to bug a bunch of engineers who have better things to do with their time than talk to average TV watchers about their audio problem, when they probably already know about it.

I actually had to switch to the analog channel for Earl last night too.

The Office was better, but that is really disappointing/annoying.  Is that the local affiliate or an NBC issue?

We just tried to watch a lot of recorded shows today, My Name is Earl, The Office, Kidnapped.  Like others the sound was unbearable.

For Earl I have to drop my amp into plain stereo which at least folded the rear channels into the front, but they were still way over blown.  The office was more bearable but it still clicked and popped through out and I could still tell the rears were ramped too high.

We discovered that Kidnapped was being repeated tonight, so we deleted our recording and I hope that Sean has the audio problem fixed, as we are recording tonight's show.

I am very surprised that WTMJ was not aware of this problem until yesterday.  Perhaps that's a result of DVR users like me.  We all record the shows so we do not even realize there is a problem until a few days later when we actually watch the show?

Anyway, i hope that Sean and WTMJ get this fixed soon.

Glad to say that this repeat of Kidnapped had no sound glitches.
