My wife and I tried to watch Kidnapped tonight, but ended up having to switch to the analog channel.

The rear channels sounded like they were overloaded - lots of pops, clicking, distortion, etc.  The center channel seemed to almost disappear.

Anyone else notice this?

Same thing here... absolutely horrible. Unwatchable. My speakers sound like they're ready to explode.

There's a re-airing Saturday night at 9pm. Hopefully they'll have this problem fixed by then.

I was thinking that my new Toslin switcher did not work. Glad it is not the case. What a horrible audio. I just turned off rear speakers and watched it with stereo.

Continues to happen on my end today as well looks like the tech's at TMJ are not doing their jobs... wish I had a job where I could just show up and do nothing at all.

I just watched The Office... it was listenable this time, but there were still annoying cracks in the sound.

At least the commercials sound good..... :bang:

Hmm. Sound so far seems better. They apparently had to blow off two :30 spots to get it working though, which is bound to annoy some advertisers. :)

Edit: nope. Still crackly. So they blew off two :30 spots for nothing. :)

I noticed the same thing.  I hope they fix this soon.

Told my wife that the first thing I was going to do was check this forum after an unwatchable ER... couldn't switch to analog as we had DVR'd it.  That was horrible.

On a separate note... is the "new post" ticker working for everyone?  For some reason tonight I don't get the pop up box anymore showing the latest posts.  It worked for me just a couple days ago... and no, I don't have a popup blocker on.

Thanks

Now NBC has more reason to be in last place. ER was just horrible. Couldn't understand most of the dialog. Did eventually switch to analog.  :bang:

I don't have any answer yet to our audio problem.

I still have not heard back from engineering on the problem earlier this week with "Kidnapped."

Tonight I was in master control during "ER" for a different problem (Comast lost the SD feed in Oconomowoc.)  I know master was not aware on the 5.1 audio problem.

On the AVS forum no one else mentioned any problem with ER, so it was just a Milwaukee issue.

Call me directly (414) 967-5398 or the assignment desk (414) 963-4444 if problems are not getting fixed. I can't guarantee results, but we can at least try to fix the problem.

I also noticed on 'My Name is Earl' last night - all the music and stuff was way louder than the dialog.  It was hard to hear what was going on most of the time as I had to have it turned way up to hear the dialog - then when background music or something would come on it would blow me out of my chair...

And I also noticed the crackling in 'The Office'.  And both of these were just through the speakers on my TV.

Thanks Sean we may gripe a lot here about these issues but at least we know YOU got our back.
