WISN (12-1) ABC Off air?

Called the station and they said that it is down because they are painting the tower.  I don't know about cable but the OTA signal is down.

Just in time for the kick-off of HD football  :bang:  :bang:  :bang:

I guess they couldn't have scheduled this one week earlier???

Anyone have an idea on how long it will be out?

Normally they only shut down when the painters are on the tower.  This is required by the FCC as there are RF Radiation limits imposed on exposed workers.  There are RF proof suits they could wear but I don't know if those are good enough when working near the antenna.  Definitely not while they are actually on the antenna.....burn city.  So it should only be down during daylight hours when the painters are on the tower.

Hopefully it will be back on for the Notre Dame vs Georgia Tech game tonight.  Master control said at this point they were not sure when it would be back on.  I wasn't sure if that meant a day or a week.

I guess I'll find out tonight.

The analog antenna is on the very top of the tower, actually above the tower...the digital is side mounted and they are probably painting those sections of the tower, as they get lower they'll be able to turn it back on.  Apparently TWC gets 12-1 OTA not via Fiber if it's off on TWC also.
