New to this forum!  Bought my first HDTV last week - Sony KDS-R50XBR1.

Have a roof OTA antenna, live in TOSA.  Receive ALL Milwaukee DT channels at 95-98 signal strength - including WMVT-HD, 36-1.

As of yesterday (6/8) however, cannot pickup 36-1 (0 signal strength).

Is it ME or are they off the air???

appears off the air.  I can't get it OTA and charter cable had no picture at all yesterday either.

I noticed the OTA outage this afternoon... zero signal strength which was unusual. Looks like they're back on the air now though. Wonder what the problem was.

Do you have purple corners on your SXRD? Whats the build date?

NO purple corners!  Build date is April 2006.

I've been reading about and "eyeing" this TV for months.  Also have been tracking the price of this unit on the internet since last September.  Sony dropped the price $500 around March and then dropped it another $500 in late May.  That's when I checked Circuit City on the internet and saw that they had it on sale for an ADDITIONAL $300 off.  Ended up getting it at Flanners after they matched the Circuit City price - plus I got their extended 5 year warranty (including a bulb replacement) for the same price as Circuit City's 3 year extended warranty.  Bought a beautiful wood finished stand/cabinet for the TV at Steinhafel's last Saturday.  It's got 2 glass doors for A/V components, 2 drawers for storage as well as 2 side doors with pullout racks for CD's and DVD's.  I'm in the process of modifying the cabinet slightly to fit all my A/V equipment inside of it.  I also use this cabinet as a "Master" distribution point to feed my video signals (Dish Network PVR, TIVO, TV antenna, etc) to various rooms in my house.

PS: The HDTV signal/picture from channel 36.1 is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

If this helps answer your question, Paul S:

So far so good with my January build date since its delivery in May. :D

I get some green in the middle as it warms up so far, it then goes away. :p

(there...now I screwed myself by saying that, right?) :(
