Getting OTA channel guide to work

I have seen this referenced here a couple times, but never really and explanation of how to do it.  I currently have Dish network, and recieve my local channels though an antenna.  However, on the on-screen guide, local channels just say "Digital Service" for the channels programming.

My question is how do I get the guide to show up?  I know when I subscribed to local channels, it would just mirror.  So, 6-01 would say exaclty what 6-00 said.

I belive I have heard soemthing about having some type of little dish pointed somewhere, but I really do not know.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Chris

Only if you subscribe to locals ($5 per month), then the guide for most local channels will be available.

Even if you get it to work, 6-1 is no longer sending out guide data.  Neither is 55-1, but nobody watches them anyway.

What about MPTV HD OTA?

I'll have D* when I move and I'll be getting their 5 lnb setup with Mpeg4 local HD, with HDDVR. I'll need to set up a season pass for OTA History Detectives, Sound Stage and Austin City limits (and probably CSI on 58-1 OTA, too). How will that work?

Tom,

I don't know if you are asking me about 36-1.  That station has been consistent on providing an accurate programming guide OTA.

After I posted, 6-1 fixed their program guide after being down for a number of days.
