//www.xbox-scene.com reported today that the DVD firmware hack for the 360 has been made public.  The hack allows people to play all originals and backups of both xbox 1 and xbox 360 games.  The game roms must be from the same region as the console though.

The HD hacking era has now begun.  I dont support stealing, but I do support such hacks because I feel that fair use has been all but eliminated with all the copy protections that have been put in place.  So I would love to see all such devices get hacked.  The hack comes only 6.5 months after the launch of the 360.  I only hope the PS3, Blueray, and HD-DVD will be hacked as soon.

Amen!!!!!!!

When I read about all the stuff that has been going on in the past few years in the name of protecting content, I just want to  :bang:

The only reason why there hasn't been a public outcry is because a vast majority of folks out there do not have the new digital high definition equipment yet, complete with all the problems inherent with HDCP, analog degradation, and other DRM controls...   A vast majority of folks out there have been asleep...

Once these people wake up in the digital age, and find out that while they were sleeping all their rights have been taken away by the content providers, they will have NO CHOICE but to turn themselves into criminals, just to get back to the point they were at before they went to digital high definition...  All out piracy is the next logical step from that..

5 years from now were going to all look back at this time and ask ourselves, "What the heck were they thinking!!"
