Lately while watching ONLY 506 (Fox6 Milw Hi Def) on TW, swapping a PIP blanks the screen to gray and causes a reboot of the box. This ONLY happens on 506. Any ideas or help here??  :bang:  :bang:

Thanx

No ideas for solution, but the same happens to me on 530 (ESPNHD) everytime.

Same here.  I don't think it's channel specific.  Maybe resolution?

Known bug.  A firmware upgrade is needed and is coming eventually soon  .  I've stuck my neck out here once already, so I won't post another timeline that I can not control.

Thanks for the update!

One of my 3 boxes does it all the time because I guess I use it more.

But the other thing is this is the newest box since replacement, too.

Dolby Digital audio stops outputting after a few hours on and becomes PCM only and I have to reset the box by either rebooting it or going into the settings and setting it again. :(

Also supposedly on the list of fixes in the upcoming release.

Thanks for the update...it never did this before. :(

I always shut the box off once I am done viewing as the HDTV sets use HDMI and have to do that "handshake" with the 8300HD box when I turn them on.
But lately, the boxes are on for awhile and the sound changes, so I look on the AVR and the display shows PCM instead of DD2.0 or DD5.1 - it's getting irritating.

Hello, I have 2 loosly related questions:

1) IS there any way to change the PIP channel on the box with channel numbers directly, as opposed to just the channe up/down??  Perhaps there is some 'trick' I don't know about...

2) While your fixing the bugs in the firmware and everything, can you make it so the damn box doesnt power up automatically when the TV turns on when its hooked up with HDMI (or at least give an option for it not to do so)?!   ITs driving me and my remote and my techo-dense friends nutz!!!  ;)

Well, for the first question, there is the 'obvious' answer: Press Swap, then key the channel number, then press Swap again :)
