I recently bought an LG 50" Plasma TV (50PC1DR). I want to get a CableCARD from TWC to try out the and see if I like it better than the SA 8300HD DVR I already have. When I called TWC the rep said that it was not possible to use CableCARD and the SA 8300HD DVR on the same TV. They would "fight" each other. Is there any truth to this? It doesn't make sense to me.

I know TWC does their best not to encourage CC (trip charge, listing all the things it can't do, etc.). Does anyone have any experience w/ the DVR function on the LG? I would change to the CC if it wasn't for my wife who would shoot me if its functionality is not better/easier than the 8300.

Thanks,

- Pat

No they would not fight each other.  Just get a splitter and send one to the TV and one to the box while you're trying out CC.  That's what I did when I was trying it out, and the techs that came to my house had no problem with that.
