Perhaps its just my dogs laying down on the remote, but lately I have had a number of shows recorded on my SA8300HD which I did not request.  Im going to make sure I put up the remote but I just wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this behavior.  I could see if the shows were on channels I regularily watch or if they were at times when my dogs could lay down on the remote, but some recordings are on channels I never watch and/or at the middle of the night when the dogs are locked up.   Its almost like someone had to open the guide, find a show, then hit record.  But when I turn on the TV, the guide is never open.  Strange...

If it's happened before, it may happen again. When you view your list of scheduled recordings, do you see anything out of the ordinary?

Deus ex...or the haxzorzs???? Have you tried rebooting your box to see if this strange behavior ceases??

Yep, I have seen a few shows on the list that I never scheduled.  The strange thing is that I deleted a few of them and then a few days later the same show would appear.  Either I have ghosts, my dogs are smarter than I think, or I watch TV in my sleep.  I have rebooted a few times, not for this but because I sometimes loose HBO on demand and only rebooting fixes it.

At least once a week only a few minutes of a show will record, but they are ones I want to be recorded

I get that too.... I tried to figure out if it happened when I have more than two programs scheduled to record at  the same, and one of them starts a few minutes earlier than the others. But I couldn't see that was the case.

I've had a few weird problems.  I've got a movie from AMC I didn't schedule that recorded and for a strange reason 2 of my scheduled series recordings unprogrammed themselves.  Now I keep an eye on it....don't want to miss Dr. Who.

One of my three HD DVRs has decided to "forget" to output DD5.1 audio.
These are on channels I have already recorded for playback and the same for the output on ones I change to channels to, not recorded.

This happens only if I leave it on instead of turning it off with the HDTV is and A/V receiver, very strange.

Now, once I reboot the box, all is well, including the actual DD5.1 recordings, too.

It just "forgets" and sends everything to my Denon AVR-3805 in PCM mode like I had an analogue channel on, instead. :(
BTW, I use coaxial digital audio cabling from the box to the A/V receiver and component for video only, no RCA cabing for cable output, no setting changes, either.

Gregg:
As far as "Dr. Who" goes, it is a cute remake of the older BBC show...but I have one question:
 WHERE IS K-9?
The chick Dr. Who is currently with is not as smart has he was...got a clue? :D

That happened to me when I got the audio menu in settings.  I think it switched to the HDMI audio setting.. I just had to switch it back to DD and all was well.
