Anyone else experiencing video drop-outs on the OTA HD feed for Channel 36-1 ???  Sometimes it is just a brief loss of picture, and other times the picture lock-ups with an accompanying rapid fire buzzing sound.  It is quite loud and irritating.  I think this has been happening now for more than a week.  I don't think it is my TV since the problem only occurs when watching 36-1.

What's going on ?  Is their transmitter going bad ?

Yes, I have noticed it too.

One of their Episodes of the Cousteau Ocean series had major audio problems.  The narrator's voice sounded like Oz from the Wizard of Oz.

The video in that series is absolutely of stunning quality.  If you haven't watched it yet.  The colors are fantastic, and I think they have really nice cameras.  Plus the operators of the cameras appear to be quite skilled.  Too bad PBS doesn't give out the full bandwidth for their HD channel.  Without macro-blocking, this would knock people's socks off and be reference grade HD video.

PBS has had a problem with its digital feeds over the last few days.  It disappeared yesterday after noon aroun 4pm for a few minutes.

I was watching that same episode and agree it is an awesome series !!!  I also noticed a bad macro-blocking problem in some of the darker under-water scenes, but I assumed my Samsung DLP (with Faroudja chipset & DNIE) was to blame.  I did not know PBS 36-1 was not using the full bandwidth.  Why would they not use full bandwidth since they are not running any SD programs side-by-side with their HD ?

Apparently the problem is with the national PBS-HD feed.

Locally created HD content doesn't have these problems.  At least none of us have noticed anything wrong with the locally produced HD content.
