My bedroom TV took a crap yesterday.  Man like I want to buy a new TV right now. Looking for something in the 24-27" range.  Should I buy HD?  It's not like it's that important to have HD but would I be stupid buying anything else?  Currently have D*.

I have a 23" Samsung LCD HDTV and it's great.  I also have DTV.  Pull the local HD's OTA.  I find the 23" to be a bit small though, you may want a 26".  SD looks good on it as well.  Of course non HD's are dirt cheap.

I recommend living without a TV in the bedroom.  No, seriously!  Studies show that those with TVs in the bedroom tend to have a worse sex life and a greater likelihood of insomnia.  Some also believe that it can also lead towards obesity.  I got rid of the TV (and all other electronics except an alarm clock) in my bedroom about 8 years ago and it has improved my life greatly.

However if you want to get a new TV for a bedroom or spare room I would probably go with a small HD LCD.  My experience is that these "secondary TVs" last a long time.  You would be best to get something that does not take up much real estate and will be somthing you will be happy with in the years to come.  Heck, I still have my old bedroom TV and its now in my kitchen on top of my fridge.

Do you really believe those insipid "studies"?

If you do, I have some swamp land in Florida!

Our master bedroom HDTV gets away from the kids, family stayovers, etc..a "refuge" of sorts...actually enhances life from the "chaos".

DVDs can be played as an alternate site for those wanting the main HT room and so on...never a conflict or added problem and as far as other bad things:
Get real!

I recommend any size set you can see at the edge of your bed, at an angle
(if that works for you) or whatever your arrangement in the room.
Wider-angle LCD sets offer the chance to move around the room a bit and still see the picture.
If HDTV viewing is required, remember to actually get the benefits of HDTV, get the right screen size, too. :D

Picopir8 or is it Dr. Phil, great sex, sleep like a baby, and am in great shape.  I also added a Altec Lansing IM7 for my Ipod.  A few of my wifes romatic tunes and let me tell you "it has improved my life greatly."

This just in watching T.V. while cooking can cause a fire which may lead to death :D .

Looking pretty hard at the Samsung TX-R2779H.  HD with built in tuner.  Thinking I can justify the $300 price jump for HD as it will give the TV extra mileage when HD becomes more popular.

Does this mean if I move my TV to the top of the fridge that we won't have sex in the kitchen anymore?   ;)
