5/13 - SNL  - Bizarre screwup -

Flip from local Arby's commercial. Audio is "I'm thinkin' ______"  and stopped short. It  was supposed to be " of Arby's," but they obviously planned wrong again and cut the commercial short.

Then it gets weird.

I think two seperate things are going on in this clip. Note: completely uninformed supposition to follow...

One: Arby's would likely be a national spot, not local insert, so there's no "flip" between SD/HD broadcast paths going on there. Cutting off the Arby's spot would be a mistake at NBC network master control, likely. Not completely surprising with SNL - they've done this sort of things, MANY times in the past.

As for the audio - to me, it sounds like it was probably some news programming. My guess is that it was being played on a preview monitor at SOMEONE's master control, either again at NBC network master control or locally at WTMJ. The audio was accidentally patched in and broadcast.
