Upconverting DVD question

Well I'm picking up the Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on tonight (along with another goodie you all will find out about soon), so I'll discover all its little secrets very soon.

How do you like your HD DVD add on for your 360?

I belong to several other 360 gaming sites and everyone that has purchased the
HD DVD add on loves it. Microsoft was smart to add the 1080p output via cables
other than HDMI. :cool:

My XBox is the old one, not a 360, so the HD-DVD add on won't help me.  Would this add on actually output 1080p?  All the other HD-DVD players that I've investigated output only 720p or 1080i.  BluRay is the only next generation disc doing 1080p that I've found.

Yeah it does as long as your TV supports 1080p over VGA.  Apparently 1080p over component is for games only.

Purchased the XBOX 360 for xmas and very interested in your feedback on the DVD player.  Is the quality as good as is being advertised
