I just bought a Toshiba 52 inch tv and have a satallite dish. I was instructed on here that I could get local stations in HD by hooking up an antenna. I did this and all I get is a low digital signal error. I do not have the antenna attached to the receiver, I just have it going into the tv. Any suggestions on how to fix? Thanks

Does your TV have an HDTV tuner, or is it just "HDTV-Ready?" If it's just HDTV ready, then you'll need the HD decoder in the receiver to give you an HD signal.

Also did you say where you are located? What kind of antenna are you using?

It is just HD ready and I live in Grafton. I am using an RCA ant1250 antenna.

I tried one of those myself and got the same results... if you saved the receipt, return it and go get one of these:

The top one on this page:

Would probably work best if you are willing to put one outdoors or in your attic.  It's pretty big to sit in your living room.  Maybe try Tom's suggestion, and if that fails step up to the 4228 by Channel Master.

Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I rent a townhouse so I need to go with an indoor antenna.

Tom,

Do you have any other suggestions for antennas? I just called my local radio shack and they do not carry it and apparently no one in the state does. I even checked on-line and cannot find it in stock anywhere. Any other suggestions? Thanks

I have the antenna that Tom suggested.  If you want to make a small donation to this forum, you can have it.
