I would like to record the new episodes of the Soprano's to my VCR from TWC. I have the Scientific Atlantic Explorer 8300 HD.  My VCR is a JVC HR A53U and does not seem to have any input jacks other than the cable(antenna)  input.  Is there a way I can do this?  Sorry if this is a stupid question, because I assume that TWC does not want us recording their shows (other then saving them on their player for eternity) but I would like to have a VCR copy take to my place up north for viewing when the fishing isn't too good.

If your cable box has a coaxial output, you should be able to record that way. There usually is an option to output to a certain station, like channel 2 or 3. You then tune your vcr to that channel and record.

It's been a while since I had cable or used my vcr, so I may be totally wrong on this. I do remember doing this once for a  pay per view movie. I split the signal so that I could watch it and record it at the same time.
