CBS58HD is dead. Less than SD quality and 9 pathetic Mbps.

Who is in charge of this station now? They have seriously lost any respect Jim Hall earned with his participation early on. A "renewed" committment to providing crappy multicasts over quality programming. Analog sound that is plagued by artifacts that have never been corrected.

Look at what others get for NCAA:
http://avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=654164 There are some pretty innovative stations out there that can balance quality with quantity. CBS58 certainly isn't in that group.

We get 544x480 x 6 or 7. This blows.

Update: Now the non CBS stations now get 720x480. Yeah, the ads get better resolution than CBS programming even though they only use 544x480 of the 720x480..

Update 2 (6pm): It's back at 1920x1080i, but at 12Mbps.

THEY HAVEN'T EVEN SELECTED TEAMS FOR THE NCAA TOURNAMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think any management changes have occurred since last year.  As far as I know, the ship has the same captain.

Not every station is in full-time multicast mode as WDJT is, so they are at a slight disadvantage when it comes to more channels of multi-cast.  Although you are not among them, I am sure some viewers are happy to have additional choices on what game they choose to watch vs one in HD.  I'm not even on the fence on this one... basketball wars are completely boring---tourney and playoffs included.

Hey, I know!  Can CBS substitute one of the games with an all-day marathon of 'I Dream of Jeanie'?
