Dish VIP622 HDDVR no guide data OTA

Hi Folks-

Received my new upgrade from the dish 811, a couple weeks ago,  paid the $300 to go to the HDDVR,  nice unit so far.  The only complaint is that I can't get the guide data for Madison Stations which I pull in off air.  I am still subscibing to the milwaukee sd locals, anxiously waiting for the locals to go HD via satellite.  The other complaint is that the Dish 1000 that was an upgrade from the Superdish won't point at the right bird for Milwaukee locals.  I was told I could keep the Super, and not get all the HD channels or lose my locals until they are moved to a new bird in the next couple of months.  If anyone has been able to pick up the LOCALS with Guide Info, please let me know.  I did with my811.

I did not get the guide data with my 811 and I do not get it with my VIP622.  I get all my HD locals over the air, not from Dish.  I have only had the VIP622 for about a week, so far I like it.

You could upgrade to a superdish 121 and put a wing dish up for either 129 or 61.5 to get the rest of the HD channels. You will also have to change to a DP44 switch.  As far as the guide info I think you must subscribe to their locals to have that info and it must be in your market

I'm not sure if you need to be subscribed to the locals.. but you at least need a dish pointing to the bird where the locals are being sent from to get guide info for the local HDs IIRC.  Dish's receivers won't pull the info from PSIP.

No I do not subscribe to any locals from Dish, only get them over the air.  I do subscribe to the HD Gold package, I have a dish at 110/119 and the other dish at 61.5..

You guys missed the point in my question I think, so I will restate?

I DID GET Off Air Guide Data with My 811, I don't with my 622.   I recall when I first got the 811 I did not get guide data either, but after a reboot or something I started getting the guide.  I get all my off air locals out of Madison, and was getting their guide info.  I subscribed to SD locals as I am in the Milwaukee market.  So I had the best of both worlds(well all hd would be the best) but I liked getting a guide anyway for locals.  I don't see why the 622 would be any different than the 811 for guide data?

Hey all,

Once the milwaukee locals in SD became available April 18th, my guide data for Madison Locals which I receive off air showed up again.  Life is good again!
