Now we have a Blu-ray launch date, but early adopters are being asked to pay a lot more for Blu-ray players and are being offered mostly lackluster catalog titles to play on them.

I'm definitely jumping on BluRay's train. Blu-ray media sizes will be an excellent option for backups/projects as prices decline. That Pioneer Elite will cost a pretty penny, but...

Almost everything comes with "lackluster" titles at launch. At least there's stuff I would buy on day one. Netflix is going to rent them as well.

If I had to pick one to buy at launch, it'd be HD-DVD for the better movie titles alone. I have a bad feeling about Blu-Ray. It's gonna be beta all over again... Sony just can't get it right.
