Getting VERY close to a purchase.  Looking at a 34" Sony tube TV and a 32" Sony LCD.  I think I should get the LCD...but with little grandkids in my house....will their little hands and fingers ruin an LCD screen?

Also...just plain old advice...LCD or Tube?

If the bulk of a tube set is of no concern, I'd go that route. The PQ on Sony's tube sets are top notch.

Assuming that they both have the same native resolution, I'd get the tube. It doesn't sound like space is a concern so there is no need to spend the extra money unless you are looking for the cool factor.

As for the kid's fingers, the LCD membrane is *slightly* more porous so stains could stick, but in reality they will be pretty close, although I have seen more and more LCDs coming with glass fronts.

But why would the kids be touching it anyway? I think back to what my dad would have done if I would have touched his pride and joy 25" console TV (Which he still has).

I fully expected to be thrashed for even thinking about a tube set.  Thanx for the advice!
