What ever happen to the Dolby audio on 36-1 HD?  Paul McCartney specials on right now with Dolby audio on the satellite feed, but no Dolby on 36-1.

I caught the end of that.  It was really cool how he created a new song at the end.  I didn't know he could play all of those instruments.  I always knew that he was talented, but now I have a deeper respect for him.

Well it goes to show why he was the only one out of the 4 to be successful on his own.

I have a question.  It seems that some of our locals have no problem switching, or passing through the Dolby audio when it's available.  While others have it turned on all the time.  Or it seems they have to turn it on and off manually.  Like with PBS HD on 36-1.  I know that Great Performances and maybe one or two other programs are the only ones offered on PBS HD that have Dolby audio.  Be nice if they had equipment that could automatically switch it on and off, or just pass it when it's available.  Channel 12 on the other hand has it turned on all the time.  This is bad because during the news casts, they do not feed the voice audio through the center channel.  Listening to monaural audio through the surround speakers really sucks.  Dolby has its place when the programming contains it, but otherwise turn it off.

Getting to my question.  Is this a big deal for our locals to do this automatically?  Obviously they don't all have the same equipment.

I missed the first showing, but the second @11pm. 5.1 was available right away.

It was kind of ironic for the last song. You can see a Mac was used to record all his instruments for the song.

To do the switch automatically, you need the right equipment.  Some of the stations don't own that type of equipment.  It's probably pretty expensive, and they would most likely have to beg their corporate parent for the purchase.
