Just changed our package a bit... Dumped Starz ($5) and got the Digital Sports package ($4.95) instead. Encore plays a lot of the same movies as Starz anyways (just a bit later)... and Encore is only $3.95 which includes IFC... a bargain in my eyes. I got the digital sports package because I know I'll be watching the tennis & fuel channels, and once in awhile there's something on one of the fox sports nets I want to watch. Also, my mom is actually a big sports fan so I'm sure she'll be watching those constantly.

So now we've got Digipic 2000 w/HBO & Showtime, Encore, Digital Sports, and HD Package. :D

I don't what kind of "deal" TWC gives you, but I have always got charged $10 a month for Starz! including the new increase which increased Encore to $4.45 - another 50 cents/month.

This is in addition to the HD DVR service fee increase of $1/month, all DigiPic packages another $2/month and so on.
(I guess those digital shopping/other non-HD channels TWC just added cost a lot more).

Let me know what other discounts you are getting so I can manuveur the next "clueless" TWC CSR when I am on the phone....thanks!

Starz was the only deal we were getting, when I signed up for it I managed to get it during a promotion where it would be $5 a month for a year. I guess I signed up during an Encore promotion as well and didn't know it. (Either that or I didn't look at the bill yet)

Look at your January 2006-due billing statement and you will see an overall increase:
For you, probably $2 for the DigiPic 1000 increase it to $51.99, $4.45 (new price)for Encore also called the"Digital Movie Lovers Package" and $1 more for your HD DVR service - although we still don't have a single HD channel added! :(

How much extra is the HD Package, and what do you get with it?

Is it iNHD, iNHD2, HDNet, and HDNet Movies?

oz: The HD Package is $6.95/month and gives you the following HD channels:

HDNET, HDNET Movies, INHD1, INHD2 and ESPNHD1.
The Universal HD (UHD) channel is coming to TWC to make it a total of 6 HD channels in the HD package.
So that makes it about a dollar a month/HD channel in this package. ;)
(UHD is coming soon-some locations already have it in TX, SC, ME/NH and Albany,NY).

Hope this answers your question.

DirecTV Total Choice - HD TiVo on one set, regular TiVo on the other.  Currently getting DirecTV's HD package because I got on special but don't plan on continuing it after the deal is gone - the only stations I watch are ESPN and ESPN2 in that package.  For locals, I'm using an OTA in the attic that picks up the locals without a problem.  My bill is about $50 a month.  I don't think my $50 is too bad - it's actually cheaper than the family cell phone bill!

Total Choice w/ 2 Directivo's no HD package, $52. OTA locals HD HTPC-PVR, free (now). Netflix 3 DVD, $18 (no need for movie channels).

So what all channels do you get in your package?

You're all going to hate me for this.  :D

Last week I bought a Samsung 30" SlimFit HDTV (TX-R3079WH) with the intention of just using rabbit ears to pull in the OTA signal. It worked beautifully, both the TV and the signal strength. I was amazed at the quality of the image & audio etc.

So this Friday night, I went to a fundraiser for the Eisner Museum in the Third Ward. I entered a raffle in which one of the prizes was a year's worth of TWC DigiPic 4000. Needless to say, I won it! It's their premium package with all the channels, HD, HD DVR, Roadrunner and their Digital phone service. A total value of over $2,200!

Does the TWC cable box offer HDMI or Component outputs? I need to figure out how I'm going to integrate cable into my system now.

Directv Total Choice Plus with HD and HBO added.  I use a OTA antenna for locals.  Just waiting to see what unfolds this spring and summer with Directv's new dish and recievers which will allow for locals with out the antenna!
