Audio dropouts during Smallville, this will be edited as they happen:

7:16 (commercials)
7:27 (commercials)
7:40 (commercials but not sure... wasn't in room but I think I heard it, and another audio pid error)

the 7:27 & 7:40 dropouts produced stream errors, however it was only on the audio pid. (0x0034)

I thought this was fixed? :(

However... I am glad it was only during the commercials.

I sent you a PM.

I was making minute changes in the delay settings used to correct lip sync. Since this disturbs the audio stream I prefer to make these changes during commercials.
We don't make a dime on the digital channel........yet.
That's all it was, no new problems.

I'm (almost) sure if either Sinclair or TWC caved on this retarded policy they'd make some money.

Thanks for letting us know!! It's nice that you put so much work into this. Un-stickied. :)

I was referring to the revenue made by selling commercial time.  The HD channel at the present time doesn't make any......yet.  It's best to work out the bugs now.

Ohh you're referring to the channel as a whole? I thought you were only talking about the HD side of things.

I hadn't heard any problems for the last few weeks, but during Supernatural tonight at about 8:55 PM there was an audio dropout.  It lasted about a second or two.

So you don't run the same commercials on digital as you do on analog??

Its not that.... The adveristers are only paying for analog channels.  Since HDTV is not included in Neilsen ratings, stations cannot set ad rates for HD channels.  Right now the stations are picking up the added cost of running a analog tansmitter and a digital transmitter and not making anything extra...

Sounds to me like that Neilsen fella' needs a swift kick in the butt.  :guns:

So, as more people leave analog for digital, the stations ratings actually go down??

Its just mind boggling how far behind the rating technology is.

Tonight's Smallville had tiny audio blips throughout the entire episode. Not dropouts, just tiny blips, hard to describe. They were most apparent in the last few minutes of the episode. Anyone else notice this?

I didn't notice any problems on Smallville.

My TSReader didn't report a single stream error, and the same problem turned up on my PC recording... so it's either a problem at the local affiliate or at theWB.
