OK, all of you that have tried satellite radio, is there rain fade? I would guess that there is since Sat TV can experience it but I have yet to hear any one mention it for Sat radio.
It would seem that it could really suck if you're on a road trip in the middle of a downpour. Of course then you always have cd or FM for backup.

No rain fade for XM, at all.

The frequency is different DirecTV/DiSh vs. XM.

Love my XM !!

Have never experienced rain fade with either XM or Sirius...

Driving through a  heavily wooded stretch of road is a different matter, though. :)

Mine goes out random times where you wouldn't expect it.  A perfect sunny day no clouds.. no trees.. no cars blocking the antenna... I could hardly get a signal.  Maybe it's sun fade (doubt it).. or just because my antenna's inside my car.  Otherwise it only goes out when I'm driving by tall trees.

Love my XM !
Now, even when I drive through the Howell Ave tunnel next to the airport, not  a single fade...maybe they have repeaters in the tunnel, huh?
As for rain fade, not a problem in the trucks or with my Polk unit attached to my THX Pioneer receiver, either.
When I go through an underpass, going west-only, I get a few seconds fade, but never in rain...its not Directv.
Now XM has added two new music channels and another 8 in April...fantastic! :D
