Boy, that's exciting.

Vanna is not getting any younger and in HD, I wonder what the close ups will look like...ugh!  :p
Alex Trebek is getting a "long in the tooth" (old) and is nowhere near as good looking as he used to be when he started the show. :(

In HD, could it be billed as "Wheel of Horrors"?

Just my take on it. So many things to consider when analogue gives everybody a different face vs. HDTV.

I had seen this in the CES reports, but I didn't see any follow up about how the programming would be delivered.

Since both of these shows are shown on 58, do they have any way of transmitting syndicated HD content?

No, nobody does, and engineers are wondering just how it is going to be done...they haven't been told yet!

Hey, some of us like "Wheel". And it is still VERY popular! It is a cash cow
for King World, or whoever distributes it now.

I imagine it all depends if WDJT-DT, ch. 58 will invest in the Videotaping, etc equipment to deliver the syndicated program in High Def.

I'm sure the decision is decided upon its current ratings of viewers to "jeopardy" and "wheel of fortune".

What if the makers of Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy create two satellite feed channels that air the shows every half-hour from Noon- Midnight so the station could air it at any half-hour time frame.

It would be like how primetime programing is delivered for each time zone, but the same show at many different times.

Most of these shows are not feed the day of.  So they would need to record and play back.  Depending on the tape format it could cost $60,000.   A video server could be $100,000 or more depending on the storage space.   As far as I know only MPTV can record and air a program back in HD.
