When is WVTV going to increase Power? I sure hope they aren't going to wait until July 1st to flip the switch, because I haven't been able to receive WVTV the past six weeks.

I don't think it is a simple matter of flipping a switch.  I think they are waiting for equipment to arrive and be installed.

Quote from: JimboyCurrently 18-1 (channel 61) and 24-1 (channel 25) are operating at reduced or low power operation. Channel 61 is currently at 18.75kw and channel 25 is running at 25kw. Both stations will be at full power on or before July 1st, 2006 per FCC ruling.
Antennas for both stations are located at the top of the MPTV DTV complex's tower.

If you look down further, they're waiting for parts to come in.

Have had no trouble receiving ch 18 in Oostburg area signal strength readings
are in the mid 80's perhaps you may have a different problem?

Check antenna alignment wind may have moved it slightly or maybe moisture in your fitiings somewhere.

Possible interference from another source?

Good luck!

I'm not sure why I'm not receiving WVTV anymore, but I'm getting readings in the 80's for WCGV.

Started watching 18-1 tonight and noticed frequent breakups and dropouts... I couldn't figure out what the problem is... then I realized wow, it's windy out today!! LOL... false alarm... I hope.

With todays announcement of the demise of UPN and WB I expect either 18 or 24 will be gone.  One channel will remain carrying a new CW, youth oriented network.  Since I'm not a youth, I'd say I've lost two networks today.

When you say "either 18 or 24 will be gone." You make it sound like one of the stations will go off the air.  That is so unlikely to happen.  I'm sure one of them will carry either the new network or take on affiliation with a existing network.  The other will just go back to independent status, and if ch. 18 goes back to being an indy... expect them to move the Bucks from ch. 24 back to 18, PROVIDING 24 picks up either The CW or another Network.

Not likely one of the current networks like ABC, CBS, NBC, or Fox would have any interest to  go to either ch. 18 or 24.  Chances are The CW will end up at either 18 or 24.  If any of the major networks change, most likely would be CBS dumping 58 for either 18 or 24.  The other networks are well established with the locals the way they are.  But I think CBS has established itself well with ch. 58.  But they might feel increase in revenue if they went to 18.

I went up on the roof today looking for anything unusual and found a damaged transformer on the antenna. I went to radio shack and bought a new one. The new transformer seems to have fixed the problem. I'm now receiving WVTV with signal strength in the mid 70's.

Thanks everyone for the help, I really appreciate it.
