I can't wait til the NFL wises up and ends their exclusivity deal.  They can lower the price and still make huge $$$ by opening it up to all providers like the other sports, no matter how much D* throws at them.

Well the NFL must not feel the same way as they extended the D* deal for NFL sunday ticket through 2010.  This was done around 4/05.  So apparently the others such as comcast, time warner etc didn't throw quite enough $$ at the NFL to make this happen.

In the mean time I enjoyed it this year but not sure if I will get it next year again or not after having it since about 99.  With D* we now get the Fox HD east coast feed and that also brings an extra game into the sunday mix because it is usually a different game (ny giants quite a bit).   So without sunday ticket I usually get the single game on channel 58 and the double header on fox (or vice versa), the sunday Fox HD feed game, the sunday night game and the Monday night game.   So that is 6 games a week. (usually all in HD if CBS gets with it) and I am not sure I can justify the extra $$$ for the few extra games.  But I've said that for a couple years now and still keep getting it.  The HD fee for ST really kind of irked me this year though............

Nice little commercial skywalker, but as you see people have their own brains and can make up their minds what it is worth to them.

When you have something thats restricted to 1 company thats not what a I call a choice at all!

exactly - and who here thinks it is fair that Time Warner is the only one with the "shorewest" channel.

Hey....
I've been petitioning Directv to get this channel on for quite some time now. I don't think it's fair TWC is the only provider with a 'Shorewest' channel.

I thought I read somewhere on the AVS Forum that the Voom HD channels on Dish are HD-Lite (downrezzed).

That's correct. Lots of discussion over at //www.satelliteguys.us too.

Yes, that Men's Channel & Beauty & Fashion are quite important, too.
How is that petition, going, anyway?

The discussion over there indicates a 1280 x 1080i resolution for the Voom channels, but it seems as though (from what I read) its not for all of them and these are the only ones, for now.

The newest MPEG4 channels of ESPN2HD and Universal HD will be different, if I read all those threads correctly.

Yes, Voom channels are HD-lite, but I don't really care much of them. They are "mood" channels. Only if something will be interesting for me, I'll watch it. Maybe once a week or so.
All other HD channels are in full res.

AndrewP: Thanks for the update...what sat will the HD LiLs for DishHD MKE be on?

Chicago's HD are on 61.5. Where Milwaukee HD will be is not known yet. My best guess is on 61.5 too. That means 2 dish solution.

I'd take FoodHD over nothing any day. At least they're trying add more national channels instead of funneling all their attentions to LILs.

Where's the NGHD?

TNTHD?

Throw us something for cryin' out loud.

I'm really tired of seeing other providers announcing more channels and not hearing a peep from D*.  :bang:

Bluto

Agreed.  Where are the new nationals?  Must be some room for new ones now that ST is done for a few months.

People have their own brains?  Wow, news flash of the day, Nancy Drew.

As for my "commercial", I'm simply stating my opinion; take notice what discussion the original post has generated.

And in the immortal words of Rush:
"If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."

SRW1000

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't DirecTV down-rez all of their 1920x1080i programming to 1280x1080i?  To me that makes them the loser in the HD race.

I'd prefer my HD to actually be in HD. ;)
