Thought this might be an interesting thread... this applies to anyone with TWC, Comcast, Satellite... or heck, let us know if you've only got locals! :D

With TWC we've got DIGIPic2000 with the HD Package, HBO, Showtime, STARZ, and Encore/IFC.

We decided not to get Cinemax since there's no HD version and they play the same movies as HBO, and no The Movie Channel (TMC) because also no HD version and they play the same movies as Showtime.

Normally we wouldn't have Starz since there's no HD version, but they play lots of movies that HBO/SHO do not, and it's only $5 a month. Also, even though Encore plays lots of the same movies as Starz, we like the specialized channels (Action, Romance, etc) and that was the only way to get the Independent Film Channel (IFC) back... plus it's only $3 a month.

Also of course we've got HD OTA tuners on both HDTV's. :)

Here in GBay I have:

   OTA-HD locals (7)

   TWC:Basic & Enhanced analog
           No DigiPicks
           HD Basic & HD Theater

I want all the HD I can get for low bucks + NASCAR + NFL.

Biggest bonus is TWC TNT-HD NASCAR for no extra $$.

I have the DIGIPic2000 package with HBO and Showtime, but I pretty much only watch the HD versions of those movies channels.

I'm thinking about adding the HD package.  If TWC picks up Universal HD, I'm in.

One TV has the TWC HD-DVR and the other TV just has the HD digital box.

Digipic 4000 pluse Starz/Encore/HD package, HD DVRs for every HDTV set, Digital Phone and RoadRunner.
This cable service is a carry-over from the time I had Directv
(before I moved twice in 2003) when I had their "Premier" all-inclusive package.

My bill is going up about $6/month including taxes/fees with the 2006 TWC price increases, half of it due to HD DVR fees going up (without any HD channels being added...ugh!).
When I consider what the WE energies bills are going up to, this increase is small and it covers more than just cable (HD)TV. ;)

I would be curious to hear what every one's total bill comes to along with what package they subscribe to. I am always interested in comparison shopping, especially as I don't really have a preference between D* or TWC.

I've got the TWC Digipic 2000, HBO package, HD package.  Right now I'm paying about $75 a month for that + 1 HD-DVR and 1 regular DVR + cable modem service due to a TWC billing error.  Normally I pay a little over $100 a month.

Sparkman87

Comcast -  Digital Classic (includes HBO), & HD Pack, along with HSI

Dish Network - Distant NBC & CBS from NY & LA (Grandfathered), Superstations & HD Pack

Also have a BEV subcription.

PatM

OTA  only here.
Antenna on roof cost less than 1 month of cable.

I've got Directv Total Choice Plus with the HD Pack. I also have one HD box, and 3 DirecTivo's. My bill comes to $87.00.
I get my HD locals via OTA .

GBK

Free OTA only; don't feel the need to pay anyone for a couple of extra HD channels.

DigiPic 2000 HBO & Showtime, HD Package, HD DVR.  I'm probably dropping to DigiPic 1000 because of so many repeats on the movie channels and most of the content I've already seen (other than the original series).  Also probably dropping the DVR and getting CableCard... and recording OTA on the computer.

Current TV has OTA built in.. so does my future TV.

The only way I'd drop the DVR and go cablecard is if my tv had a built-in DVR, or if I bought a better standalone one.
