TWC remote - different for HD/non-HD box?

I just got a phone call from home saying that my new HD box is up and (sort of) running. not suprisingly, it is not connected properly. this, I can fix when I get home. I would have liked to take the day off work to supervise this installation, but I just did that last week, and this week is already going to be short with Thanksgiving.

So - my question. I'm told that the channel up/down buttons on the old remote are not controlling the new box properly. The possibility exists that the new box is not entirely compatible with the new remote. Channels can be changed using the Guide button and scrolling through, but channel up/down and the numbers do not work. Anyone experience this situation? I hope I'm not going to have to call them and get another remote. That would be really annoying.

My two cable boxs, the SA 3100 HD one and the Pioneer SD one, both use the same remote.

I'll have to try some different codes. My standard digital box was not a pioneer. We shall see.

I can't remember which Sound and Vision issue had this, but it had a helpful hint when connection devices to your HT.  They said to unplug all devices before attaching interconnects.  I'm sure Gregg can explain why... I think it had to do with electrical buildup, charge, something like that...

I have found no difference in the remote signals between the digital cable boxes, the 2000HD box or the 3100HD box.  Same programing to a universal remote controls all three.  Just double checked. It will change channels on the SD and HD boxes. I'm assuming you are not using an analog box remote.

Never take a woman's word for anything involving electronics. The remote works just fine, and did from the moment I picked it up. HD looks beautiful, to be sure.
