Do we know yet if CBS will show the Packers in HD on 11/6?

I've got a group of friends that want to come over to watch the game on the big screen, but I won't dissapoint them by inviting them over to watch a big-screen SD telecast.

Joseph S

This says yes.

Don't know if that may change if they're 1-6. CBS may have to show an infomercial instead of the lone scheduled CBS game for that time slot. ;)

Why would you want to see the Packers get their asses kicked by the Steelers in HD?

The outcome will be the same, might as well go with the best picture and sound quality possible.

The Packers game this weekend on CBS-58 will be in HDTV.

However, in the event the early game runs past the opening kick-off for the Green Bay game, the network will finish the early game in HDTV and then upon conclusion of the early game switch to the Packers game in HDTV.

Therefore, if the early game runs over we may be showing the start of the Packers game in SD.   Our operations and technical staff will switch to the Packers in HDTV as soon as possible.

We've been told why you can't switch into the Packers HD feed before, but why can't you just leave the early game's HD feed on 58-1 until the switch is made. We already have SD coverage on the analog channel. Then we could see the end of the early game in HD and all of the second game at our leisure.

Very well said.
So, WHY THEY CAN'T DO IT?

I believe it is an NFL requirement to show the Home game

on 'home' TV when game is in progress.....

Normally the Analog version & Digital version come off the same

feed......    Be it HD digital or SD digital or digital down convert or

   SD analog.....

To bend the NFL telecast rules for a few more minutes of

another HD game....     I believe, is not a TV Station option..

but I see your point....   Your request for 'more NFL non

local HD' is just a quirk in the HD TV transition due to lack

of CBS satellite bandwidth....      NFL TV rule is a NFL rule....

Some good news from our CBS network.....we will have a complete HDTV feed available for the Wisconsin market at the kick-off for the Steelers vs. Packers game this Sunday.

SWEET! Thanks for keeping us posted, Jim... (and if you pulled a couple of strings at the network, thanks even more!)...

8:30 left at 2:58pm. It looks like once again we'll miss the finish of a close early game. The scheduling clearly isn't working CBS! Early games need to start earlier or late games need to start later.  :OnAir:

1st and 10 at the KC 14, Raiders down 5 points and 2 minutes to go and

"Due to NFL..." :(

Note that 3 of the 4 CBS early games are still not over and all are within one touchdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!
