Did anyone else experience pixelization during the Bucks game on Tuesday night and Wednesday night? It was happening so often to me that I watched both games on analog 24-0. Was it just me??

24-1 is one of the not full power yet stations.  Even with a 4228 I still routinly experience pixelation problems with it . Oddly enough - everything else except 30 ( which is super low power) comes in fine. I think we are just going to have to wait for these last couple of holdouts to finish their DTV installations. Compared to a fair number of other areas of the country we are pretty lucky in that almost all the other stations are now operating their DTV side at full licensed power - compare this with a year ago - when we were all trying to float 4228's on barge ballons to tease in the tiny amount of power available. Getiong OTA HDTV/DTV is a very much more practical project today than it was a few months back - we need to get the word out that this is so.

I had it as well.  My signal for 24-1 comes in at a steady 69% (doesn't change) but I was getting pixelation problems on Tues & Wed during the bucks games so I had to switch to the regular 24 because it was unwatchable.

You get a picture with 69% signal??? For me if it's below 85 I'm lucky to get anything at all. (I can't get 10, 24, or 30 digitally at all.)

I think it is a relative to the box but my sammy ts-160 box used to give me a perfectly watchable signal on fox before they boosted the power up and my signal strength would vary from 37%-47%.  It would only have very, very minor pixelation problems.  Now with power up from fox it is 100%

I am in Waukesha on the SW side of the city and we do not have many trees either, so that may play into it as well.

Likewise on 18-1 i get a 69% signal strength as well but I don't get any pixelation problems like I do with the same signal strength on 24-1.

Much depends on how well the receiver can tune to channel 25. If the channel bandpass of the receiver is too wide the receiver "sees" some of channel 24 and then has issues decoding the digital stream.  Our Samsung SIR-T150's have this problem (older receiver) but my USDigital at home has no problems.  Of course full power on channel 25 will help which will happen before July 1st, 2006.

It seems strange that some people can get 24-1 but not 18-1 or vice versa, because the antennas for 18-1 and 24-1 are mounted right next to each other on the same tower. Supposedly mounted along with 10-1 thru 10-7, 30-1, and 36-1 also on the same tower.

Yeah... I can receive 36 and 18... no 24, and 10 has its good and bad days, but most of the time I can't receive it.

Those are a piece of cake to recieve.

However, Sinclair's are an an either 18 or 24 situation and 24 is the weakest of the two by about a 1/3. I also need to tune away from the sweet spot for everything else to get any of them above 60%. So I'm not watching either. Since I can't get UPN HD for Veronica Mars or Everybody Hates Chris, I'm holding off on watching the episodes. :( Smallville galore is already on HDNET if you're trying to make it through the seasons.

Mark Strube

Yeah, over the summer I caught the first 3 seasons of Smallville on HDNet, then before they got the rights to play the 4th season I rented them on DVD... just to be ready for this season... so not getting the WB in HD wasn't an option. :D
