Vampire Bats Sunday Night movie on 505 TWC not in HD!!!  The leader at the beginning said it was broadcast in HD and DD 5.1!  Is this a problem with CBS, WDJTHD or TWC??

Same thing OTA. Just checked during a commercial. No reports at AVS. Is this supposed to be HD or not?? TitanTV says yes.

Reported to be in HD in Baltimore. Definite local screwup.

The portion of Cold Case in the recording is also not HD.

Dear CBS-58 HDTV Viewers;

When the network provides us a late NFL football game and that game runs past 6:00pm our present CBS network feed does not provide us with a live time delayed HD network feed.  Therefore, our current and only option we have is broadcasting an upconverted SD feed over our HD channel.

Yet, every 3PM game goes beyond 6pm so what's new this week??? Same thing with Saturday college football games. I don't understand why a show that started at 2 hours later isn't available in HD just like all the prior weeks on CBS in delayed or other fashion. This was a local decision because it was in HD in several other midwest and east coast markets. Why was CBS58 not in line with CBS's national feed?? It's not as if the NFL game was a local production. The only explanation seems to be that they chose not to show the national game of the week.

Even if that's the case that they went against the network schedule and picked a late game when they were supposed to do only the early game or some other of the late games, they still had 1 hour to fix the situation for Cold Case and 2h for Vampire Bats.

1) Show the scheduled CBS football game, rest is on schedule with the network
2) Join 60 minute in progress in SD/HD, no big deal.
3) Join 60 minutes in progress on HD (National upconvert), run rest as HD and rejoin SD coverage at 10pm after movie with whats left on SD feed.

Next week they have another movie of the week, are we getting shafted again because CBS has a national double header??

?!

I think that HD engineers just have a schedule which differs from TV viewers schedule. :guitar:
