Just checked this morning.  It's on channel 72.

I should be excited about this, but I would have rather had TNT-HD. Is there anyway we can swap channels with TWC??    :P

Always somebody never satisfied.

Well I'd rather have Universal-HD than ESPN or TNT all together... so take what you can get. In my opinion TNT, even when in true HD, which is only about 50% of the time, it doesn't have very good picture quality.

Who is your provider?
:OnAir: TNT HD on Dish Network has one of the best PQ and Dolby sound. Especially with their newly Closer and Wanted series.

I find that hard to believe. Perhaps with HD-Lite it covers up TNT's mediocre 1080i encoding. However, I don't watch those shows on a regular basis. Everytime they play a movie that's in "true HD" it doesn't look nearly as good as a movie from HBO, HDNet, or iNHD. That tells me a lot.

Universal HD is great and I definitely would choose to keep that over any of the other three channels mentioned in here (ESPN, the deuce, and TNT).

But among just those three, TNT would definitely be my choice. Just don't watch enough sports I guess.

You know, I don't like when we start comparing content UHD, TNT-HD, ESPN2-HD. I want all of them. I had UHD with Voom, and it is great. Again, PQ of TNT-HD is one of the best on Dish, it is not HD-lite, TNT-HD is agreat channel. It has enough HD content. When they show upconverts, I just use my remote.
It is great that D* added Espn2-HD and I wish they continue and add TNT-HD, Cinemax HD, TMC-HD, Stars-HD. Then I will switch, even if D* will not add 10 Voom HD channels.
I want and always ask E* to add UHD, Espn2-HD, Cinemax HD, TMC-HD, Stars-HD. Maybe Wealth-HD was so bad, that I just can ask fot it. Voom HD is not enough.

Any news on HD-TNT possibly coming to DirecTV?  I'm so close to wanting to switch to DirecTV, but my wife watches a lot of HD-TNT.  I'd consider DISH, but if we end up moving within the next year, I would like the option of getting the NFL package...

I'm sure they will add it but I would guess it won't be until all of the mpeg-4 and HD Lil stuff is launched and they get to use the bandwidth in the new satellites they recently launched.

My guess would be next year sometime.

How is the quality on the non-HD version of TNT on D*?  Is it all grainy like some of the channels on TWC?  Or is it better looking?

Most of the shows we watch on TNT are just upconverted anyhow...
