Just thought I would add that for the record....

The record also includes missing the 5/1 deadline. Being beat to the air by the cheapo religious station. Worst history of switch flipping in the market, so much so that it is not even close. Most obnoxious logos that run throughout programming, a local decision as this garbage doesn't happen at Hearst Argyle's jewel station in Boston. Continual audio drops on cable since they started. Worst SD "upconvert" in the market and now long periods of silence during HD broadcasts.  :mad:

No sound for the opening of MNF tonight.  The picture went to SD for a second and came back, but still no sound.  My preamp doesn't show that it's missing a signal.

OK cool, then it wasn't my equipment.  I too didn't get sound.  Must have turned it off before 8:07pm.  Now I think of it, I did because I started watching a DVD at 8:05.

Yes, last night was one of the most painful displays of silence that I've seen in a while..... atleast the beginning.

While it seems to be taking a while to troubleshoot and resolve, it certainly benefits us to have 12eng participating here.  Certainly as mhz40 mentions, there could be multiple factors involved here.  Broader network related audio drops would likely be mentioned on the AVS forum in other markets as well.  Have not had a chance to look yet.

What would possibly be even more helpful here-- any of you far west siders able to pull Madison in to compare?  I no longer live on that side of town, and don't have an external antenna on a rotor that I could try that.

There have been a LOT of dropouts and audio switches during Entertainment Tonight tonight.  Very distracting, and I'm not even really watching it.

There were audio dropouts during ET on Wednesday.  We know the cause (and fixed it), but it is unrelated to HD audio dropouts.

Did anyone notice audio dropouts on 12-1 (primetime) Wednesday?

12engr - I know you probably have no control over this but I'm just curious... what's the policy behind having the giant 12 logo in the corner of all the HD programming? Is there any way your station could change their minds about that? Maybe you'll "accidentally" turn it off?

It's not a Hearst-Argyle corporate policy. I've got some WCVB Boston feeds to prove that wrong. It's a local decision that many of us oppose. Overlapping with the ABC, Green and Yellow, Christmas box, New Year's eve... Ugh. Their bugs are beyond obnoxious. 4 seconds at the start of programming is max justifiable. It's not like we're confused. Nobody's confused. We all can figure out what we're watching.

Okay we watched the last couple of weeks worth of Commander-In-Chief back to back the other night and through both programs there were drops.  The show of two weeks ago had at least one drop and last week's show had at least three drops.

Each of the drops appeared to be exactly the same length - aboout 3-4 seconds, which seems like an eternity at the time!

Please get this resolved!

Countless TWC audio dropouts and even a few signal losses tonight during the game. :td: :td:

Another rash of TWC only dropouts which started at 12:09 left in 3rd.

Checked the OTA PVR at same time frame and there were no issues OTA.
