Another audio dropout about 7:03 Alias dropped for about a second or two.  When is this going to be fixed?

Another total drop on Alias around 7:40 just killed my PVR recoding. This is out of hand.

I didn't notice any audio dropouts during Nightstalker tonight.

OTA HD signal, dolby digital output.

Another issue this Fall:
Multipath is getting worse too with the leaves. Is WISN at lower power than their nearby competitors?? Their signal is being overpowered according to my readings now. Barely in the 80s at all angles while Fox/PBS remain above 90. The non-competitors NBC and CBS remain at the high levels from this Summer now at or above 90.

I was having some SERIOUS issues with receiving WISN a few weeks ago. It would have a full signal at 99 and then just jump all over the place every minute or so. Now, in the past week or two, absolutely perfect signal, not one issue. I think something has changed.

StarvingForHDTV

I confirm that the Dolby Digital light stays on during the silence.  Also my signal is rock solid.

Good thought, but multipath would not discriminate against the audio feed alone.  Both video and audio would be affected, since the multipath would disrupt the entire transport feed.
It's possible that there are multipule issues going on here... some of at the transmitter/uplink and some related to multipath or co-channel interference from other broadcast sources.  We don't have the resources to differentiate these between the various issues using consumer hardware as test instruments.  It will be up to the pros to continue analyzing our feedback and use  resources they have to come up with root causes.

As far as the long 2-4 second audio dropouts that don't turn off my Dolby Digital signal light... I get those evenly on OTA and TWC WISN. However, the quicker "blip" audio drops and partial blocking (minor picture glitches) I get only on TWC.

Still experiencing audio drop outs tonight during Nightstalker.

a show that just like Boston Legal and Alias gets ZERO reruns. :(

GBK

this has been going on for so long that I'm now convinced that the WISN policy on this is to ignore it.

This is ridiculous. Look how much work Jimboy (WVTV 18 tech) put into fixing WB audio dropouts, and they don't even have as much coverage as 12 does (not on cable). Their problem wasn't even quite as bad as 12's is, yet he put a lot of work into fixing it. Get on the ball WISN! You've got a lot of shows that I like to watch these days, very disappointing.

I think you guys are being a bit unfair on 12engr.  Afterall he is responding and is requesting feedback to try to diagnose these drop outs.

Yes, Jimboy was more responsive and was able to diagnose their issues quicker and one would hope that with ABC being a teir 1 network that that they would put more resources on fixing this, but each network has their own protocols their employees will need to follow.

I haven't watched much ABC in the last few weeks due to all the reruns, but as we get into November sweeps, hopefully some of these drop outs will be resolved.

Please just don't annoy 12engr enough that he never responds on this forum again....

Actually I must add that we watched Commander-In-Chief from a couple of weeks ago last night (we are engoying this show) and there was not a single drop out.

Just thought I would add that for the record....

Another audio problem last night on Gray's Anatomy
